We'll take a pottery workshop, calligraphy session, and a cooking class all while exploring incredible restaurants. We'll try camel burgers and pastilla (a perfect sweet-savory pie), wander the legendary Medina of Fes with plenty of time to shop, and dive into a street food tour in Marrakech’s iconic Jmaa El-Fnaa.

This trip is for you if you want to eat well, intentionally lose yourself in Morocco’s most vibrant medinas, and maybe come home with a custom leather jacket (or two).

Safety
Safety is relative, but in our experience yes, Morocco is safe. The US State Department Travel Advisory for Morocco is Level 2: Exercise Caution, the same as it is for Spain and France.

Dietary Restrictions
We can accommodate vegetarian travelers and most allergies or restricted diets throughout the trip. For vegan travelers, options may be limited—especially in remote areas like the Sahara and smaller towns. As we get closer to departure, we’ll check with our local partners about available meal alternatives. Your Tour Leader will also be happy to assist with purchasing suitable items from local shops when needed.

LGBTQ+ Travelers
Morocco does not have strong public support for LGBTQ+ rights, and discretion is strongly advised while traveling. Larger cities such as Marrakech—often considered more liberal—are generally viewed as relatively safe for LGBTQ+ travelers who respect local customs and avoid public displays of affection. Many visitors report warm, welcoming interactions with locals, though there have been isolated reports of harassment and arrests, particularly affecting women, so additional caution is recommended. Throughout the trip, our dedicated tour leader will work to ensure that there's a safe and enjoyable environment for all travelers.

Welcome to Tangier, the gateway between Europe and Africa, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea!

Upon arrival, we'll pick you up at the airport so you can take some time to settle in after your journey.

Later in the afternoon, join your local host and fellow travelers for a welcome meeting at 6 PM to go over the details of your upcoming adventure. We'll also enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, where you’ll savor authentic Moroccan flavors while soaking in the city’s cosmopolitan charm.

Start your morning with a hands-on Moroccan cooking class led by a local chef.

Visit a nearby market to select fresh ingredients, then learn to prepare traditional dishes that capture the essence of northern Moroccan cuisine. Enjoy the meal you’ve helped create while taking in views of this coastal city.

In the afternoon, set out on a guided walking tour through Tangier’s historic medina and kasbah. Wander through narrow alleyways lined with whitewashed houses, explore vibrant souks, and uncover the city’s rich cultural blend of African, European, and Arabic influences.

The evening is free to relax or discover Tangier’s lively café culture.

Leave Tangier behind and head to Tetouan for a cultural stop. From the early 20th century until 1956, Tétouan served as the capital of the Spanish protectorate in northern Morocco. As a result, parts of the city have a distinct Spanish architectural and cultural influence.

Continue to Chefchaouen the adorable little blue gem, beautifully perched beneath the raw peaks of the Rif mountains and one of the most gorgeous cities in Morocco. Meet your local guide and take a guided walking tour through the vibrant shaded medina.

End with dinner at an incredible local restaurant where you can try some regional dishes.

This morning, immerse yourself in the art of Arabic calligraphy during a private workshop led by a local artist. Learn about the history and meaning behind traditional script styles and try your hand at creating your own beautifully written piece, a unique cultural souvenir from Morocco’s Blue City.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. Wander through Chefchaouen’s serene blue-painted alleys, browse artisan shops, or simply relax at a rooftop café overlooking the Rif Mountains.

Today, leave the Blue City behind and journey toward Meknes, an imperial city steeped in history. Though it has witnessed many dynasties since the 11th century, its true glory belongs to Sultan Moulay Ismaïl, whose passion for architecture transformed the city into a monumental masterpiece in the 17th century. Meet your local guide for an exploration of the old town.

Before continuing your journey, stop for a unique and flavorful camel burger lunch, a local delicacy that perfectly blends tradition and adventure.

Afterward, continue to Fes, the finest medieval city in the Arab world and a former imperial capital renowned as Morocco’s intellectual and spiritual heart. Much of its ancient charm remains intact within the vast, car-free old medina, a living museum of history and culture.

To end the day on a delicious note, savor a sweet-and-salty pastilla for dinner, Morocco’s iconic pie made with delicate layers of pastry, tender chicken, saffron, and a dusting of cinnamon and sugar — a perfect balance of flavors to complete your journey.

Today after breakfast, meet your local guide for a walking tour and venture into the narrow maze-like alleys of the medina.

Get lost in the maze of workshops, tailors, and restaurants sprinkled in winding passageways. Rub shoulders with locals, donkey carts, local stalls and wind up at the famed tanner.

Fes is a handicraft haven, so after the tour enjoy free time to shop. This is where you can find fabulous leather goods (and even have custom leather jackets made), ceramics, and more.

In the evening we'll reconvene for a sunset cocktail!

After breakfast, board the train from Fes and journey south to the vibrant “Red City” of Marrakech.

That evening, we'll explore ever-vibrant Jemaa el-Fna Square and take a food-tour with a local guide. As you wander through the lively backstreets of the medina, let the aromas of spices, freshly baked bread, and sizzling street food lead the way. Sample a variety of local delicacies from olives and nuts to sweet pastries, traditional breads, and more.

Today, meet your local guide, and explore Marrakech, a city dating back to 11th century. Step inside the ruins of El Badi Palace, once a luxurious palace from the 16th century. Influenced by the Alhambra Palace of Spain, it took 15 years to build... walk among the remains which are made up of high mud walls, large courtyards, pools, and orange trees. You will sense the past grandeur of this place.

We'll also head to a pottery class for our chance to try out this ancient craft.

Finally, we'll end our tour with a farewell dinner at an award-winning restaurant run entirely by women where we can soak up the flavors of Morocco one final time.
