Vietnam is a new destination for us, and this is our test trip. We've done the research, been on the ground, and built an itinerary we're genuinely excited about, and we think it's about 80%-90% of the way to the Unfiltered & Fed standard. The trip is how we finalize that last 10%. That's why we're running it at a reduced founding rate. Deposits & Refunds

All deposits are non-refundable. In the case of cancellation:

• 75+ days before departure: full refund minus the $1,300 non-refundable deposit

• 75 to 45 days before departure: 50% of total trip cost is non-refundable

• 44 days or less before departure: all costs are non-refundable

Travel Insurance Is Required

We strongly recommend coverage that includes trip cancellation, curtailment, and emergency medical and repatriation (minimum $200,000 per category).

Who Travels With Us

Our travelers are overwhelmingly women, and U&F trips are woman-centered by design. Travelers of all genders are welcome to register.

Rooms are shared or single occupancy. If you're booking with a partner, friend, or family member, we can arrange a room share for you, just input your information at checkout. Otherwise, we will do our best to match you up with a roommate of the same gender. If we can't pair you with a same-gender roommate, single occupancy rates will apply. At registration we'll ask your gender for rooming purposes.

Upon arrival, you will be met by our airport representative who will walk you through immigration on the fast-track, and then you'll transfer to your hotel.

Check in, then at 6 PM we gather for a mandatory welcome briefing, and then we go eat! Dinner is at Hanoi Garden a MICHELIN Guide-listed restaurant in a century-old villa, built around Northern Vietnamese cooking.

This morning you head to the outskirts of Hanoi to meet Ms. Thuan. She comes from a family that made and sold silk to the French during the colonial period, and she now makes lotus silk, woven from the stalk most people throw away. You'll learn how it's made and try your hand at it.

Later, you dive into the food culture that captivated Anthony Bourdain from his first visit. You'll eat bun cha, a quintessential local dish, at the shop now known for the table where Obama and Bourdain sat, still framed behind glass. You'll try fresh banh cuon nearby, then pull up a plastic stool for bia hoi, the roadside draft beer poured straight from the keg, with peanuts, tofu, and garlicky morning glory.

You'll finish over Hoan Kiem Lake at a café for egg coffee.

After breakfast you leave Hanoi for Tuan Chau harbor and board the Treasure Junk by tender. Enjoy welcome drinks, a safety briefing, and lunch as you cruise into Bai Tu Long Bay, the quieter neighbor to Halong Bay, where the same limestone towers rise out of the water but there's a fraction of the boats.

You'll get on the water to kayak the coves at Cong Do. Late afternoon you catch the light dropping between the peaks from the sundeck, with drinks and a cooking demonstration. Dinner is on board, inside or out depending on the weather.

After dark, try your hand at squid fishing off the deck, or take the mic for karaoke with your tour leader.

You wake on the bay for sunrise and tai chi on the sundeck, then a light breakfast. Then you'll board a bamboo boat to Vung Vieng, a floating village ringed by mountains, where the rowing boats are the cars, the shops, and sometimes the beds. Back on the junk, you cruise toward port over brunch.

After cruising back to port and disembarking, you'll take a short domestic flight to Hue – the ancient imperial citadel. There you'll have the rest of the day to yourself and get settled into your hotel.

This morning you learn Truc Chi, a Hue paper art shaped by streams of water at different pressures. You'll work alongside the artists who revived it and make a piece of your own, which gets dried and delivered to you later in the trip.

From there you visit Thien Mu Pagoda, a working 17th-century monastery, home to the car that carried Thich Quang Duc, the monk who self-immolated in 1963 in protest of the treatment of Buddhists. Lunch is a feast inside a pagoda.

In the afternoon you walk the Imperial Citadel, seat of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945.

Rest, then tonight: a private concert and dinner at Ben Xuan, a garden residence and theatre backing onto the Perfume River.

This morning, you will depart by car for Hoi An via the scenic Hai Van Pass, where you'll enjoy the spectacular panorama of the central coastline from the summit.

Once you arrive in Hoi An, take a walk around the ancient town. As the national trading center in the 16th century, Hoi An is home to the diversity of ancient streets and homes. Stroll around the unusual cobblestone streets to admire the hundred year old Chinese houses.

This tour offers you a great chance to see the ancient houses built in Chinese, Japanese, French and European architectures. There are some incredible places that you should not miss when visiting Hoi An including the hundred-year–old Japanese Bridge, the Phuc Kien Hall.

You also have a chance to stop at a tailoring shop to get custom clothes made (and there's time built into the itinerary to get them finished while in Hoi An).

You start with a countryside bike ride out of the ancient town and into the village lanes, past rice paddies and water buffalo.

You'll stop at Tra Que herb village to walk the gardens, meet the farmers, and see how the herbs and bean sprouts are grown. Then you eat your way through an interactive spread with more than ten live food counters: banh mi, dumplings, rice crackers, noodles, Hoi An specialties, and you'll try making rice paper and wontons yourself.

Then you cook. A hands-on cooking class where the chefs show you each dish before you make your own, and you take home the recipes and a Vietnamese cooking utensil. You'll finish with a coffee class and make five kinds: phin, iced milk, egg, coconut, and salt.

Today, immerse yourself in a peaceful plant‑based experience at Long Gia, a serene garden home in the Hoi An countryside.

Learn the craft of traditional tofu-making — from grinding soybeans to pressing and shaping — and discover the host’s signature “tofu cheese,” perfected through years of experimentation.

Afterward, enjoy a gentle walk to a quiet village temple before returning to Long Gia for a creative vegan meal featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients.

The experience concludes around 1:00 pm, leaving you with a warm connection to local food, tradition, and countryside life.

Say goodbye to Hoi An this morning and head to Danang airport for a short domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh city.

Once arrival, check in and relax.

Late afternoon, you climb onto the back of a vintage Vespa and into the real nightlife of the city. You'll ride past the landmarks, cross the Saigon River for the skyline, and stop at a rooftop bar for a welcome drink. Then the food: local street kitchens, seafood, a night flower market most visitors never see, a live music bar, and a taste of chocolate the New York Times once called some of the best in the world.

You spend the day in the Mekong Delta. You'll take a private boat to Ben Tre, walk the coconut gardens, and stop at a local home for tropical fruit and coconut jam.

You'll paddle a sampan past the palms, then ride a tuk-tuk through the villages to see how everything from candy to oil to bowls gets made from the coconut.

Lunch is in the heart of the Delta, including the famous elephant ear fish, before you cruise back and return to the city.

Tonight you toast the trip! A farewell dinner at Mandarine Saigon with live instrumental music, then a cocktail at Summer Experiment for a last look at Saigon's bar culture.
