I recently went on an 11-day trip to Peru with Anela / FeedtheMalik, and it was incredible. From start to finish, everything was so thoughtfully planned. All the transportation—especially getting to and from Machu Picchu—was seamless. Every mode of transportation was comfortable, and it was clear a lot of care went into making sure we acclimated to the altitude gradually (which was much appreciated, since many of us still felt some symptoms but were able to get care quickly). What I loved most was how the trip was curated around food and culture, which is exactly what I look for when I travel. Highlights for me were the pisco sour making class, cooking class, the city tours, visiting AMA, and the amazing pachamanca lunch. Every day felt like a new experience that went beyond just sightseeing. If you’re someone who values authentic, food-focused travel and wants everything handled so you can just show up and enjoy, I can’t recommend this trip enough. Thanks to Anela for making it all so special!

The trip was wonderfully and thoughtfully curated -- it was the perfect introduction to Peru. We got a taste of everything -- literally, food, culture, AND history from one end of the Andean trail to the other. I would highly recommend the trip AND can't wait to get back to see more.

I had an incredible time sampling all the different gastronomical specialties in southern Peru! The whole trip was an absolute delight, Anela is a marvelous host, and the guides were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming.

Let me just say this — when you travel with Anela, you are not just going on vacation. You are stepping into your main character era. Every detail, every meal, every moment feels like it was curated by your favorite bougie, well-traveled cousin who refuses to let you have a mid trip meltdown or a bad dinner reservation. It all started in Egypt, and listen… I was ready for my Prince of Egypt moment. Standing in front of the Great Pyramid as a Delta Sigma Theta woman? Chile, I had to take a second. Between cruising the Nile on a Dahabiya, visiting Queen Hatshepsut’s temple, and haggling (successfully!) in the Cairo bazaar, I was fully living my Cleopatra fantasy. Gold jewelry, mint tea, sunshine — Egypt gave opulence and ancestry. Then came Peru, where the vibes shifted from royal to adventurous. We’re talking rainforest mornings, Machu Picchu magic, and food that had me ready to risk it all for another plate of lomo saltado. From sipping Amazonian cocktails to watching the clouds lift over the Andes, every day was a “wow” moment. And can we talk about that 360° train ride? It was like traveling through a screensaver with snacks. And just when I thought I couldn’t top those experiences — boom — Portugal. Baby, Portugal said, “Relax, sip this wine, and mind your business.” From cruising the Douro River and tasting olive oil in Alentejo to laughing through a Lisbon cooking class with a glass of vinho verde in hand, it was giving soft life and sangria. Every view was stunning, every bite was fire, and every day felt like a toast to joy. Across all three trips, one thing stayed consistent — Anela’s magic. Everything was thoughtful, intentional, and effortlessly luxurious. She knows how to strike that perfect balance between culture and comfort, education and enjoyment. You’ll learn, laugh, sip, explore, and come home glowing (and maybe with a few extra bottles of wine in your suitcase). Egypt was epic, Peru was powerful, and Portugal was pure pleasure. Three countries, countless memories, and one constant truth: when you travel with Anela, you’re in for a trip that feeds your curiosity and your confidence. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m just waiting to see where she’s taking us next — because my passport and my spirit are both ready. ✈️✨🍷
